I recently discovered, purely by accident, a baby food preparation unit that completely blew me away. I think it has been around for a while although I am not sure how long. This device is called the Baby Bullet.

The baby Bullet is an incredible time saver for those parents who spend large amounts of time preparing baby food when your baby is starting to go onto solids – Parents just know what I am talking about here:-) Preparing baby food is often very, very time consuming and definitely not one of the tasks that we look forward to.

What I love about the Baby Bullet is that you can easily prepare a weeks worth of food for your baby/babies in a matter of minutes. Making extremely healthy and nutritious baby food has never been simpler; but there are also a few other benefits to consider as well.

By making baby food recipes with organic ingredients and no added sugars and fillers, you can ensure that your infant has a more nutritious meal than anything available at the supermarket.

The baby bullet also allows for making smooth purees for when your baby is first starting solids but also allows for thicker textured foods for when your baby moves on.

The Baby Bullet food saves money when compared to buying pre-made baby food, and with the economy in its current state and families finding it harder to survive on their current incomes, this may be a small but important factor to consider. The manufacurers claim that the savings can be as much as 10 x cheaper compared to supermarket purchased food – I can’t verify that figure but even if it is half that, it is not something to ignore.

An incredible little design feature worth mentioning is Dial Date functionality on the storage cups. After making your baby food and filling the storage cups, simply turn the Date Dial to show the date the food was created. This way, you know how long something has been made and whether it is still good or needs replacing. Something so simple and yet pretty ingenious in my mind.

The unit comes with an array of useful pieces to ensure that you have everything you need to start making your food preparations easier. Along with the fun & funky style design, the pieces are well made and very easy to clean with some pieces being dishwasher friendly.

Here are a few sample recipes

Green Pea Puree

Make a huge batch of peas to keep in the freezer with this simple 8-second recipe.

2 cups of steamed/boiled green peas

½ cup of water

1) Twist the Baby Blend Blade onto the bottom of the Batchbowl.

2) Add the peas and water to the Batchbowl and close the lid.

3) Blend until you’ve achieved the desired consistency.

Note: Add more water for a thinner purée, less water for a thicker purée.

Black Bean & Veggie Soup

Thick and hearty, this soup is full of love, veggies and protein!

One yellow squash steamed or boiled until soft

One carrot steamed or boiled until soft

½ cup of cooked black beans

½ cup of fully cooked chicken breast (or one Baby Bullet serving of chicken)

1 cup of chicken or veggie broth (add more for thinner soup)

1) Twist the Baby Blend Blade on to the bottom of the Batchbowl.

2) Add the ingredients to the Batchbowl and close the lid.

3) Purée until you have achieved the proper smoothness.

Sloppy Joes

Super tasty with a sneaky bit of goodness added in, this is one you won’t be able to keep your hands off of.

3 Baby Bullet servings of marinara sauce*

½ pound of browned ground beef or turkey

1 Baby Bullet serving of carrot purée*

1) Add the Marinara Marina sauce and the carrot purée into the Short Cup and blend together until smooth.

2) Pour the sauce mixture over the browned ground meat and cook together until nice and warm.

All in all, the Baby Bullet is an extremely well designed and very useful appliance.

If you are a parent with a baby ready to go onto the first stage of solids, this product is definitely something worth looking into and considering.
