Okay, so you’re stuck between the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller, and the BOB Revolution Stroller. I can see why, both are extremely well built, with comfortable child seats equipped with a 5-point child safety harness, and multiple seat reclining positions, adjustable rain/sun hoods, large under-seat storage, parking brakes, and running leashes. Both the Jeep and the BOB have excellent reviews as well. This could be a tough decision, however, there are some unique features that set these two jogging strollers apart. Let’s take a look, shall we?
First of all, the suspension systems. The Jeep Overland offers a spring loaded suspension system, which makes for an extremely smooth ride. The BOB Revolution offers a shock absorbing suspension system, also smooth, however, the BOB’s shock absorbers can be adjusted, depending on terrain, and the weight of your growing child. The BOB Revolution’s max weight is 70 pounds, whereas the Jeep Jogger only goes up to 45 pounds. The BOB Revolution also weighs less, 23 pounds compared to Jeep’s 28 pounds. Five pounds may seem like a lot, but when you examine what all you get with that extra 5 pounds, it doesn’t seem so bad. The Jeep Overland Jogging Stroller comes with loads of extra’s including, a child snack tray with cup holder, a hand brake for those extra steep hills, an adjustable handle with multiple heights and different angles, as well as a parent tray with an iBaby sounds system that gives you and your child the ability to listen to tunes on the trail. The parent tray also includes cup holders, and storage for keys, cell phone, etc. With all those extra’s, it seems like a pretty simple decision, however there are still a couple very important key features to examine.
Number one, the front wheels. The Jeep comes equipped with a fixed front wheel, whereas the BOB offers a locking swivel front wheel. This means that when it comes to turning the Jeep Jogging stroller, you must pop-a-wheelie in order to do so, while the BOB Revolution simply turns on a dime. The reason for this is that the Jeep was designed for the “SERIOUS” runner, and the BOB was designed for the “ALMOST SERIOUS” runner. Almost serious means, that you tell people you’re going out for a jog, and you end up just walking really fast 80% of the time. Hey… I’m not poking fun, I’m the “ALMOST SERIOUS, BUT NOT QUITE, BECAUSE I’M EXTREMELY LAZY” jogger. Therefore, the BOB Revolution would be more my style. I like being able to navigate through the grocery store easily, or around tight corners without lifting the front end up. I like the fact that you can lock the front swivel wheel, and have the added comfort of a sturdy fixed wheel when I’m “ALMOST SERIOUS” about jogging. However, what I don’t like about the BOB Revolution, is the price. The listing price for the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller is $239.99, over one hundred dollars less than the BOB Revolution, priced at $389.00. That is a big difference. However, you must also keep in mind that the BOB’ resale value is also through the roof. You can sell a used BOB for nearly the same price as you can buy a new Jeep Overland. The reason for that is that the BOB has a HUGE following. People love this jogging stroller. They say it’s like pushing air, light as a feather, and totally worth the extra money. The Jeep also has excellent reviews, however I did find a few complaints about the front wheel, apparently, a few people bought it without realizing the front wheel was fixed. I guess that might tick me off too.
In conclusion, if you are a “SERIOUS” runner, you may want to take a better look at the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller. If you’re an “ALMOST SERIOUS” runner, you may want to consider taking a loan out to buy the BOB Revolution Stroller. Good luck, hope this helps!
